Library Long Range Plan

Expand Services

  • Update and increase collections, especially reference section
  • Utilize and maintain CD conversion of Citizen Herald
  • Maintain and update technological equipment
  • Continue Internet services and training
  • Support Literacy Volunteers of America

Cultural Center of Village of Walden

  • Promote art awareness through exhibits, displays, lectures and book discussions
  • Increase library’s collection of local artists
  • Increase staff hours for cultural programs
  • Continue to preserve library history
  • Promote use of community room by local organizations

Financial Health

  • Continue process for Chapter 414, Local Voters Law for Library Budgets
  • Lobby for funding from Orange County Government
  • Maintain and expand community donations
  • Create an active Friends of the Library
  • Explore additional methods for funding and/or grants

Promote Library to the Community

  • Increase promotional materials, especially newsletter
  • Support Friends of the Library
  • Promote business services and reach out to community groups
